Jasper recovery after the wildfires
Donation protected
Hi, I‘m Tom and have been watching the news with horror this week as the beautiful mountain town of Jasper, Alberta became a victim of a horrendous wildfire. I was lucky enough to call Jasper home for around 18 months, and only left there to return to Europe at the end of April this year. I have felt absolutely helpless watching this happen and wanted to do something to help, so I‘m starting this GoFundMe. Jasper is honestly one of the most beautiful places I‘ve ever visited and every little donation will help to get this town back on its feet. Please feel free to give as little as you like, or as much as you can, or just to share the link to a wider audience. I will be donating the funds directly to the town of Jasper in order to go towards the rebuild.
*EDIT*
I feel like someone has reported this fundraiser for some reason, and need to add some points.
- As stated above, I lived in Jasper for around 18 months and fell in love with the town. Having seen 2 houses I lived in personally, and seen my friends and former colleagues houses burn down I felt like I needed to help somehow.
- A former colleague of mine works for the town council, so any and ALL funds raised will be transferred to them as I know and trust they will get the money to where it will be needed.
- I intend for the funds to be spent on helping the rebuild of the town, but I personally will have no say in what it is spent on.
