I am writing to share the heartbreaking news of the unexpected passing of Jason Smith, affectionately known as J Smooth, who left us on August 3, 2025, in Bossier City, LA, at the age of 46. Jason was not only a beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, but he also touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Born on October 4, 1979, in Bossier City, Jason dedicated his life to working as a skilled dealer in the vibrant casinos of the Shreveport and Bossier areas. He had a profound love for his family and cherished every moment spent with them. Jason is survived by his mother, Debbie Smith; his brother, Justin Smith (Amanda Smith); his sister, Jennifer Smith Starks (Charles Starks); as well as a niece and nephew. He was preceded in death by his father, William Smith, and his brother, Randy Smith.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date to honor Jason's life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to assist with the costs of cremation and other services through a GoFundMe Funeral Service.

Jason will be fondly remembered for his kind heart, generous spirit, warm smile, and deep love for others. He leaves behind cherished memories that will remain with us forever.
