Jason, Kalli and Family

My name is Ashley and I'm fundraising for my dear friends Jason and Kalli. They are some of the best people who have overcome so many obstacles life has thrown their way, but have come into extremely difficult times due to a very devastating string of events.

On March 5th my friends experienced a fire on their farm and it completely destroyed their chicken coop, storage shed, garage and all the contents inside including their Kubota tractor. All their tools and equipment necessary for everyday farm life, their livelihood, was destroyed.

Due to an error on their insurance policy, their entire insurance claim was denied. Leaving them with nothing. Not even tools to clean up the debris. Due to high retainers required by lawyers to take on a case like this, legal action is not a feasible or cost effective option to pursue at this time.

Jason and Kalli are remarkable people. They were both first responders in Alberta and met through work. Jason was a Volunteer Firefighter and Correctional Peace Officer, and Kalli was a Paramedic. Due to the difficult nature of their careers, they unfortunately had to take a step back to take care of their mental health. They moved to Saskatchewan to be closer to Jason's children and eventually start their own little farm and add to their family. The horrific fire happened just days before their daughters first birthday, which is an extra sweet time in their family as it’s so closely shared with her one of her big brothers birthday.

This family is faced with emergency response expenses, vet bills, cleaning up the mess of the fire, tractor loan payments, mental health services and eventual reconstruction. Any donation towards this family would be greatly appreciated.
