Hello everyone,

My 49-year-old brother-in-law had a massive heart attack two weeks ago. He is being kept alive by the incredible cardiac intensive care team at Foothills Hospital in Calgary. Currently, he is on a ventilator, dialysis and a heart-lung bypass machine called ECMO. His odds of survival were less than 20 %. They increase every day, but he is not out of the woods. His road to recovery will be long and difficult. I have watched many miracles happen in the last two weeks for which I am so grateful. Now I feel compelled to help this beautiful family get through the toughest journey they will ever face. His wife Mara has not left his side. His children, Elena ( 11), Owen (9) and Vivian (6), are surrounded by family. I have known Jason since he was ten, and my heart breaks for him.
