Jasmine Jones' Reorientation Support Fund
Donation protected
Jasmine LaShay Jones is a loving and beloved community leader and she needs your support.
After 19 years of incarceration and working towards safety for trans women in "men's prisons," she is coming home in mid-April to the SF Bay Area.
In her own words: "I am an experienced advocate for transgender and disabled people, as well as a legal worker and social justice movement leader. While inside, I worked to improve not only my own conditions, but those of other transgender people in the system. I founded the organization Red Roses in 2009, which seeks to bring attention to the discrimination that is perpetuated by the system and by those who discriminate against transgender people in general. This organization helps transgender people file complaints that deals solely with civil rights violations. I have also served on the advisory councils of multiple prison justice organizations including New York’s Sylvia Rivera Law Project and the SF Bay Area’s Transgender Gendervariant Intersex Justice Project."
We live and thrive because of love shared in community. We are able to reorient to new chapters of our lives because of community. We are able to create safety, relish in joy, and build power, in community.
We are calling on community, now, to help love, hold and support Jasmine Jones in this time of need. Will you contribute to her reorientation support funds?
Extensive legal support and community services are engaged with supporting Jasmine, but direct interpersonal assistance and connection will be the key to her successful reorientation to life outside of CDCR prisons.
In the spirit of interdependence and visionary leadership, please give generously to Jasmine LaShay Jones' today!
