ABOUT ME

Hi, my name is Jaryn Hoff (Matt and Nicole are my parents) and we are from Harlingen, TX. I am 14 yrs old and a freshman in high school. This year as I was thinking about my future and that big question "what do i want to be when i grown up" I asked the Lord for direction. He began to put on my heart the passion to serve Him and people across the world who are less fortunate. I felt led to train to become a missionary. I told my my mom who homeschools me my thoughts, and like any good mom, she told me "well start now!"
We started to look into programs and found Teen Missions International . They having been taking teens like me who have no experience in missionary work and have trained and equiped teens since 1970. The program includes a 2 week bootcamp of physical and spiritual training in Florida, before going onto the missionfield for 5 weeks out of country, and then a week debrief back in Fl. We felt like that would really be best for me. We prayed about it and God said "GO!"

THE CAUSE

I am seeking support in helping to fund my first trip to Nicaragua. We will be building a wall to surround the El Samaritano school in Nejapa, Nicaragua. We will dig the footers, pour concrete, and lay concrete blocks for the walls. We will be visiting the barrios of the area to reach the communities with the gospel. We will be teaching kids about Jesus using plays, puppets, worship, games and activities. I hope they like the same jokes that make my sisters laugh. While you are helping me to get there as a trip sponsor, you are really helping these kids and their parents and their community.
THE COMMUNITY

The community of about 4k people in Nejapa is just outside the capital of Nicaragua. Like many other communities there, there are high rates of unemployment and impoverished living conditions. The area is a sand quarry where families and kids often resort to selling the sand in their yard in order to provide for their families. While there is much need in the community, there is also a lively population of youth who love baseball and soccer that I can't wait to meet.
THE NEED

My parents have put forth a lot of the funds needed to prepare and send me on the mission trip. Recently my mom has had 7 months of chronic pancreatitis and lost her job, making it a bit harder for them to contribute. I am needing Trip Sponsors. The expenses for my trip include the Teen Missions Intl fee ($3290) which includes my trianing/bootcamp, airfaire to/from Nicaragua, housing, and meals. I am hoping that my friends and family can come together to help me make it to my trip. I have to have half paid by MAY 15, the rest is due JUNE 17 when I leave. I need to cover my airfare to/from Teen Missions Base Camp in Orlando Florida ($500). I also need work clothes and boots that are weather proof and duralble for the mission field ($175). I need some gear from the packing list to get me started ($200). I would also like to take small gifts to the children we will be ministering to ($100). This is a total of $4265. It is alot but well worth it to serve others.
HOW TO GIVE

Thank you for wanting to be a trip sponsor!! Your donation through GoFundMe will be given to my parents who will manage it- this will not be tax deductible and Gofundme takes a 5% fee. But you can also GIVE DIRECTLY to Teen Missions Intl which is a tax deductible contribution. To do so you would mail a check to my house, made out to TEEN MISSIONS INTL. Gift Cards to Academy and Walmart for my gear would be very helpful. Also if you have small lightweight items like spanish coloring books for kids or hygeine items, I can give those to the children. To get my address for these items or cash or checks please contact me or my mom.
I want to work! Hire me to clean your garage, babysit, powerwash your fence or things, and do things for you at work or home. I am homeschooled so anytime!
