Hi there Community
Support for the Jarrott Family After Devastating House Fire
In the early hours of Thursday, 3rd April, tragedy struck the Jarrott family when a fierce fire tore through their home in Cotton Tree, Maroochydore QLD. While most of the family of six were away representing the Maroochydore Surf Lifesaving Club at the Australian Surf Lifesaving Titles, their daughter and beloved dogs were at home, unaware of the fire (caused by faulty equipment)—and only just managed to escape, thanks to the heroic efforts of their brave and caring neighbours. The fire has left the Jarrotts with nothing. Their home and possessions are gone in an instant, but thankfully, lives were spared. Now they are facing the heartbreaking task of starting again from scratch.
The Jarrotts are a family that is deeply rooted in the Sunshine Coast community. They are heavily involved in surf lifesaving, with each and every member of the family undertaking countless hours of volunteer beach patrols to keep the public safe. Additionally, they are involved in the netball, swimming club, and local business communities, generously giving their time and energy, volunteering and supporting others without hesitation. Now, it’s our turn to be there for them.
We are reaching out to rally support to help ease the immediate burden—replacing essentials, finding temporary accommodation, and giving this family the breathing room to regroup and begin to rebuild, especially as their family grows and they prepare to welcome their first grandchild into the world in a few short months. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a real difference. Please consider helping the Jarrott family, who have given so much to others, in their time of greatest need.
The smallest amount will help them in the interim until the insurance is sorted. They have absolutely nothing. No clothing, no shoes, no swimwear, no school uniforms or work clothes. This money raised will go towards buying essentials that are needed immediately.
