Jared's Handgun Training Fund
Donation protected
I am raising the funds needed to send my friend Jared Bryant and his wife Amber to Front Sight Firearms Training Institute in July to increase their proficiency in the use of the handgun. Since Jared is a Texas State Trooper, stationed in the Texas border town of Eagle Pass , I want him to be prepared for each day on patrol. My wife and I gave Jared and Amber a $2,000 two-day handgun class but they cannot afford to travel to the training facility in Las Vegas, Nevada. The funds from this campaign will pay for their airfare, food, lodging and rental car.
Jared's passion for the Texas State Highway Patrol is revealed in his law enforcement story:
----------
As a youngster I grew up watching the TV shows "Walker, Texas Ranger" and COPS , which inspired me to go into law enforcement. By the time I got into high school, I wanted to be a peace officer because I have a strong passion for helping others and keeping people safe.
My mom encouraged me to go to college to achieve my goal. With her help, scholarships, and hard work I was accepted at Sam Houston State University and studied criminal justice. I met my wife-to-be Amber in college and she encouraged me to apply to the Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol . Amber and Mom continued to encourage me to finish college and then attend the academy.
After completing my criminal justice program, I began the 6-month Highway Patrol application process. The application process wasn't easy, with many physical and psychological tests and several interviews. I was accepted into the 2016 Highway Patrol class in Austin. The academy was even harder, 24 weeks of classroom and basic hands-on training. Many people joked that the training for Texas Highway Patrol is harder than any military training. Even some soldiers agreed! Waking up at 5 am everyday for rigorous physical training was tough, but it prepared me in the best ways possible.
My path to law enforcement never seemed easy, but it prepared me for this incredible job. Many fellow troopers have inspired me over this past year and I have been considering many career paths within the department, such as investigations, armory, gangs, and child welfare. While I'm not entirely sure where my path will eventually take me, I am excited for the journey.

Will you join me in sending Jared and Amber to Front Sight ?
Thank you!
