In loving memory of Janet Ortiz Olivera
Donation protected
Hi everyone we’re the three daughters of Janet Ortiz Olivera and here is our story,
On Sunday June 9th, 2024 our mother, had a stroke in the morning. She was taken to the hospital and they found a clogged artery in her heart which needed immediate surgery to be removed. The surgery seemed to be successful; however, within one hour she stopped responding to everything around her and they took her to do a CT; her brain was hemorrhaging and she experienced major complications from the surgery.
They told us that her whole right side of her brain is bleeding/ swelling.
The only two options were to remove half of her skull on the right side or just focus on the comfort of keeping her here.
The family decided not to do the surgery due to the risk, going forward on June 10th, 2024 her kidneys started to fail due to her kidney disease and they wanted to put her on kidney dialysis.
However, the risk was to further the brain bleeding and swelling so once again we had to make a difficult decision and chose to focus on comfort care and not proceed.
One of the things that occurred on June 11th, 2024 was low oxygen levels in her hemoglobin causing complications in her blood flowing correctly.
They wanted us to do a blood transfusion, however. we are now focusing in the comfort of our mother and giving ourselves the time to say our goodbyes.
She is now dependent on a ventilator and would not like to live a life like this.
They told us the longer we wait the sooner she may go into cardiac arrest due to her blood pressure decreasing each day, so in the meantime we are making sure she knows she was loved and allowing everyone to say their goodbyes until we meet again.
We all appreciate anything you guys can donate. We really do this will go towards our moms funeral services, our bills, our living situation and anything else that we may need.
Please share our story.
