Hello!

Mum & I will be walking together this July 2025 from Westgate to Margate, Kent, UK; raising funds to support looked after children to have access to extra activities and enjoy themselves through the work of Action for Children Thanet Local Projects.

If you're a regular supporter of our annual sponsored walks you'll know that last year I walked on behalf of my Mum, as she was in hospital recovering from bowel cancer surgery!

This year we celebrate her good recovery and walk together

Your donation makes a HUGE difference to the activities Action for Children Local Projects can do in Thanet.

The children who benefit really appreciate that people they don't know want to donate money to help them.

We choose to support Action for Children Local Projects Thanet because Mum herself was looked after by the National Childrens Home for the first 2yrs of her life until she was adopted into a family. She's now 88yrs old and has been participating in the Action for Children annual sponsored walks for at least 25yrs!

Your donations support activities including short off grid holidays for 2/3 families together so the foster parents can share experiences and the fostered children find others like them. Action for Children Thanet don't just do 9-5. They also respond to social services emergencies such as finding shelter for children whose homes have become unsafe to return to.
