Jane Bullock Care Fund.

On 10th August, our world stopped. Jane suffered a catastrophic stroke and brain bleed that very nearly took her life. She needed resuscitation and spent nearly a month in ICU on a ventilator. Nothing prepares you for standing at a bedside, not knowing if the person you love will survive, or what life will look like if they do.

Jane has spent her life giving. She is a dance coach who has shaped, inspired, supported and loved countless children and adults over the years — helping others find confidence, strength and joy through movement. She was always the one encouraging everyone else. The strong one. The steady one. Now she is the one who needs everything.

Jane has lost half of her sight and has lost all movement in the left side of her body. She cannot sit up or stand on her own and she has lost some cognitive skills & bodily functions. She lives with severe pain every day.

Her time at the rehabilitation hospital is coming to an end so she is finally coming home after 7 months in hospital. She will require constant 24-hour care just to get through each day safely, manage her pain and stimulate her to try and recover further.

Her recovery depends on ongoing daily care and specialist physiotherapy and rehabilitation, far beyond what standard support can offer and what the NHS is able to provide.

Our dream — the hope we cling to — is that one day we might help her walk again, ease her pain, and give her a better quality of life. A life with dignity that is worth living. A life where she can regain some independence. The emotional toll is enormous, the shock and depression of what has been lost is indescribable, but the financial pressure is totally overwhelming.

The costs for 24 hour care, daily Neuro physiotherapy, personal care, specialist lifting equipment, specialist wheelchair transport to appointments, and adaptations to our home to build a downstairs disabled friendly wet room & toilet, are just a few of the hurdles we are about to face — it doesn’t stop and will be needed for the rest of her life and we cannot do this alone. We are asking for help because we have reached the point where we need it.

Any money raised will only go towards Jane’s rehabilitation and care to try and help her regain some of her life back. Jane has been a dancer for 54 years and went on to represent England around the world making multiple British, European & World Professional finals. She has always been slim & fit & lived a very healthy lifestyle - she didn’t deserve what’s happened to her.

One day, somewhere, somehow, I plan to hold her in my arms on that dance floor once again.

This Go Fund Me page is only for voluntary charitable donations held in trust for care & rehabilitation purposes for Jane Bullock. All funds will be used only for care, rehabilitation and disability equipment. Funds will be managed in a documented separate care fund account. Funds will not replace statutory funding but help bridge gaps to help her recovery.
