Jamie's Baby Fund

I got to know Jamie Lynn Zammert through the 'hooping' community about a year ago. You know how some people enter your life and you know there's a reason? This is one of those stories.

2014 has been a tough one for Jamie.  Her husband left her with a 1 year old son, Justice, and with a baby on the way.  Justice is in speech therapy and surgeries for a cleft palate. She is a young, single mom and sole provider now. Then she lost her job. She has been scrambling to find employment and access resources in her local community of Minot, ND to stay afloat.

I've seen Jamie to have incredible resiliency. Rather than play the victim, she's been pounding the pavement looking for work. She's set up her online Etsy shop to sell her beautiful hand-wrapped hula hoops, scarves, and other handmade items. Friends have encouraged her to set up her own ‘gofundme’ page to help get her head above water, but she doesn’t want to ‘beg.’

If you’ve ever been in a place where you just needed a little helping hand, you can understand the stress she is under as a single mom and sole provider, and how great it would be to have a little breathing room, financially, when her second little one arrives.

I’d like to give her a baby shower by raising funds for her when the baby arrives. Let's "make it rain" for Jamie and cover her rent and costs when baby arrives! Maybe it will help give her a few weeks to bond with her baby before returning to work. It will help her pay her rent, buy diapers, or whatever else she may need to boost her getting back on her feet.
