The 125 Walk

Hello! I'm Jamie, the Foodbank Liaison Officer at North Norfolk Foodbank. On Monday 8th June, I am going to complete a sponsored walk around Cromer Pier - 125 times. 2026 marks the 125th anniversary of Cromer Pier, and as we are their chosen charity for the year, it seemed appropriate to use the iconic structure as the location for this challenge.

One lap around the pier is approximately 300 metres which doesn't sound like much. However - multiply that by 125, and you get 37.5km, or around 23.3 miles.

I will also be doing this walk carrying a rucksack weighing 15kg - the average weight of a standard food parcel.

In 2025 North Norfolk Foodbank fulfilled 2,096 voucher referrals feeding 4,535 people - 2,884 adults and 1,651 children. As we move through 2026, demand shows no signs of slowing down.
