Hello! My name is James Boyd, and I am a 17-year-old Life Scout with Scouting America currently working toward earning the rank of Eagle Scout with Troop 728. Scouting has taught me the importance of leadership, service, and helping others in my community. For my Eagle Scout service project, I want to make a meaningful impact by supporting individuals experiencing homelessness and hardship through the creation of emergency resource kits and sack meals.
My project will partner with Blanchet House, an organization dedicated to serving those in need in our community. With the help of fellow Scouts, volunteers, neighbors, friends, and family, I plan to collect and assemble 50 emergency supply kits and 50 sack meals that Blanchet House can distribute directly to residents in need. The kits will include essential items such as sunscreen packets, sunglasses, socks, hats, underwear, sweatpants, wrapped snacks, first aid supplies, deodorant, electrolyte packs, wet wipes, toothbrushes and toothpaste. These supplies will provide warmth, nourishment, hygiene, and protection against the elements for those facing difficult circumstances.
Donations to this project will help cover the cost of materials, supplies, food items, packaging, and other project expenses needed to successfully complete the kits and meals. Every contribution, no matter the size, will directly support this effort and help provide comfort and care to members of our community who need it most. Thank you for supporting my Eagle Scout journey and helping me turn this project into a meaningful act of service for others.
