JAMARI'S JOURNEY
Our beautiful and brave little boy Jamari, only three years old has had a shock diagnosis of acute lymphoblastic
leukaemia
Before diagnosis
Jamari is a happy go lucky, very energetic, & the brightest little character, he literally does not stop! Jamari loves fun family times: playing in the park, playing games with his older brother Cassidy (5) and he was really looking forward to his first plane ride and family holiday to sunny QLD. ✈
When day 2 of his family holiday things took a dramatic turn for the worst.
Symptoms
Jamari had developed on and off fevers, complaints of sore legs and not being being able to walk. He just didn’t seem to be his bright bubbly self.
It was decided late that night to take him to Robina Hospital ED for a second opinion and for peace of mind after already having taken him to the hospital and doctors back home in Victoria and getting discharged with a possible virus.
Diagnosis
It was on this horrific night or early hours of the morning on the 25th March, a night we will never forget that our little Jamaris blood results came back and showed increasing levels of blast cells, a key indicator of leukaemia.
Every parents and child's worst nightmare.
It was at this point that he was immediately taken to Queensland Children's hospital were he underwent a bone marrow aspirate and lumber puncture for doctors to confirm the diagnosis as acute lymphoblastic
leukaemia.
When the formal diagnosis came in the news hit hard.
The day after diagnosis, Jamari had a port inserted in his chest for chemotherapy to be administered.
Being in another state, so far away from home, all familiarity, & all support networks this is undoubtedly heartbreaking enough let alone Covid restrictions meaning Kie has been unable to have visitors at this point in time meaning everyone feeling very helpless.
As if this wasn't tough enough.
This journey for Jamaris road to recover is going to take an community of people, an army more like it, lots of time, energy, love, and endless support.
The financial pressure of Kie being self employed and without income coming in is one burden that we would like to alleviate.
So i please ask anyone in the position to all band together and support Kie and the boys by doing whatever it is that you can to support this beautiful family.
If there is anything you can do to offer support, anything whatsoever - please reach out to us or donate through this fundraiser.
I want to Thankyou all for taking the time to read this.
We love you all in advance and please all pray for little Bawi
