For more than four decades, Jake Schorr has been one of Memphis' most dedicated champions, leading countless efforts to promote Downtown and the city he loves. As the heart behind Jefferson Square, The North End, Westy's, and The Carriage Company, Jake has been a mentor, friend, and familiar face to generations of patrons, employees, and visitors.

Long before the revitalization of The Orpheum, The Peabody, Beale Street, and South Main, Jake was introducing people to Memphis through his iconic horse-drawn carriage tours, sharing the city's rich history with warmth and enthusiasm. He welcomed tourists, served memorable meals, and provided a stage for emerging local music legends, including Sid Selvidge, Joyce Cobb, and Freeworld. His tireless work, long hours, and unwavering commitment have helped shape the character and spirit of Downtown Memphis.

Jake's generosity has always extended beyond his businesses. For more than 20 consecutive years, he has partnered with Dallas Minner, Lindenwood Christian Church and Operation BBQ Relief to help prepare and serve Thanksgiving and Christmas meals for thousands of people experiencing homelessness or food insecurity, ensuring that no one was forgotten during the holidays.

Today, Jake is facing one of the greatest challenges of his life. He is battling serious health complications, including the amputation of a foot. As he focuses on treatment and rehabilitation, the mounting cost of medical care and everyday living expenses has created an overwhelming financial burden.

Your donation will help cover Jake's medical bills, rehabilitation, and essential daily expenses, allowing him to focus on healing instead of financial stress. After a lifetime of giving so much to Memphis, this is an opportunity for our community to give back to someone who has devoted his life to serving others and showcasing the very best of our city.

If you're unable to contribute financially, sharing this fundraiser with your family, friends, and community is another meaningful way to support Jake. Every donation and every share makes a difference.
