JAKE, IZZY AND ISSY HALF MARATHON FOR MIND

Welcome to our Gofundme page!

We have decided to participate in the Battersea Park Half Marathon on the 9th March 2024 to raise money for the mental health charity Mind.

This charity means a lot to us as we have seen many of our loved ones sadly struggle with their mental health. Especially since COVID, where young people were increasingly dealing with mental health challenges. This includes Issy, as she developed anorexia and depression during this period in 2020. Luckily, she was surrounded by such incredible and supportive people (specifically Jake and of course Izzy) that helped her in her recovery.

There is such a big social stigma around mental health and opening up about it is extremely hard. However, your mental health is just as important as your physical health so these conversations NEED to happen.

The sad fact is that 1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem of some kind each year in England. Mental illness does not discriminate; it can affect anyone. This is why charities like Mind are so important. They help spread more awareness and more people will get the help they need. They provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.*

There are too many people fighting inner battles and having to push their feelings down in fear of being judged by others. We really hope that our fundraising can help some of these people get the help that they need.

Jake, Izzy and Issy xx
