Jailbreak 2025!
Donation protected
Jailbreak is a charity challenge like no other where students, in teams of two, race across Europe with the aim of getting as many points from challenges as possible. The catch? Students cannot spend any of their own money throughout the race!
The money raised goes to St Vincent de Paul (SVP) and Amnesty International. Jailbreak has been organized by students from Trinity VDP, which runs 30 weekly activities; working with people experiencing homelessness, adults with intellectual disabilities, and children from disadvantaged areas. Jailbreak helps fund SVP's national mission of reducing poverty and running events ranging from provision of direct assistance to social housing. The fundraising additionally goes a long way towards funding Amnesty’s national and international campaigns, such as "Stop Torture” and legal advocacy to protect human rights globally. Since its inception, Jailbreak has raised over €350000 for these two very worthwhile causes.
Jailbreak began in 2013 where students were tasked with getting as far away from Trinity College as possible without spending any of their own money. The format of the competition has changed multiple times over the years but the central theme remains the same: students racing around the world in aid of St Vincent de Paul and Amnesty International.
