Zoie is a young Black mother who has spent much of her life navigating systems that have caused more harm than support.

As a child, Zoie was taken from her family by the family policing system and placed into foster care. She was later adopted, but when she turned 18, the adoption failed. Leaving her to navigate adulthood largely on her own, without a safety net.

Earlier this year, Zoie gave birth to her daughter. Shortly after, her baby was taken from her as well. Since then, Zoie has been doing everything she can to fight for her child and build stability in her life.

Recently, Zoie went to court to address a past charge as part of her effort to move forward and reunify with her daughter. Instead of finding resolution, she was arrested at that court date and is now being held on a $5,000 bond.

We are asking for urgent community support to raise $750 toward her bail. Any funds raised beyond that will go directly toward helping Zoie after her release. Covering essentials like housing, food, transportation, and continued legal support.

Zoie deserves to be free, to access the resources she needs, and to continue fighting to be reunited with her child.
