Jacob’s Journey with Leukemia (MPAL)
Donation protected
For a couple of weeks, Victor and I were noticing our Jacob wasn’t himself. He had low energy, pale color, and a few other common symptoms. We made a doctor's appointment for him on July 9th, but on Sunday, July 7th, we were at church and he just looked miserable. Victor and I decided we couldn’t wait anymore and I took Jacob to Cooks Urgent Care in Fort Worth. The doctor agreed he needed further assessment and sent us to Cooks ER for blood work.
After extensive testing and procedures, Jacob was diagnosed with MPAL (mixed phenotype acute leukemia). Jacob received multiple blood transfusions and platelets. Once his levels were more stable, we were moved to a regular room. He is now on the oncology floor at Cook Children’s. He had his first round of chemo on July 10th. This is extremely difficult and our hearts are so heavy. We would appreciate your prayers and support. Please stand with us in hope and positivity. We have faith that God is bigger than this terrible cancer. He gave us a strong, brave little boy. We are so incredibly thankful for all of the support we have received so far. Our family feels so loved.
Although we are so appreciative of all the generous outpouring of support, please understand how fragile our hearts are at this time if you choose to leave a comment or text. This is all extremely overwhelming for our family. Thank you all for loving our boy.
