Jacob’s GI And AirwayJourney
Some of you may know Jacobs story began about 6 months ago when nursing got harder and harder. He was so having so many sensitivities from my diet that we. had to supplement. The supplement journey took us to a special dietician and a food therapist who started seeing some red flags in his eating habits. He wouldn’t eat a lot of formula at one one time meaning he was in pain and couldn’t fill up, he was having a lot of adverse reactions to
baby foods , and was aspirating formula he was drinking. Meaning some of it
went down his trachea instead of his esophagus. The feeding therapist decided it was then time for Jacob to see a special
team in Seattle called an aerodynamic
team. This team consists of a pulmonologist, GI specialist and an ENT all who
specialize in pediatrics. We met them
about a month and a half ago and after
consultation they agreed Jacob was past the waiting It out stage and they needed to go in and take a look through a triple
endoscopy. His endoscopy was on
Thursday morning. It was a long night
prior of him not being able to drink or eat anything before the procedure. The procedure went overall better than expected. The pulmonologist found some inflammation from the aspirations meaning his
formula will have to been thickened even more to help prevent these. The GI dr
didn’t find anything anatomically which
leads him to believe Jacob may also be
having some oral aversions that he may
need to continue to work through with
feeding therapy. And the ENT saw very
enlarged abnoids and tonsils in his
findings. He took the abnoids out which
hopefully will lead to better sleep and
breathing. They seemed pretty hopeful
after the procedure that things weren’t
as complicated as they thought they
could be. We will
have to follow up in a couple of months inSeattle again to see if the adjustments
are working well and until then continue to work with his specialists in Spokane.
Jd and I feel better with some answers
but still are in need of prayer for peace as we continue to wait this journey out, for better sleep for all of us to manage this
journey well. And most importantly for Jacob to be more comfortable.
we hope this is a good way to update so many of you dear friends and family who have been asking about sweet Jacob.
And as all of you all know Over the
weeks the gas’s, food, lodgings and
airplane tickets have been adding up. WeHave been asked several times if we haveset up a go fund me account so here it is for those of you who feel led to help out inthis way!

love and are thankful for you all.
