Jacob and Amanda's Rainbow Baby

Hello, I'm Rachel Pelley. I am Jacob's sister and Amanda's sister-in-law/friend. As many of you know, Jacob and Amanda have both dreamt of being parents for as long as they can remember.

 

From the moment Amanda’s first sister Alex was born, she knew she wanted a baby of her own. Her family often tells stories of Amanda putting her babydoll under her shirt to pretend she was pregnant. Watching her sisters grow up, and being a part of that process, only made her want to be a mother more.

 

Jacob has always looked up to the kind and loving nature of our dad, Randy. Since Jacob was little, Dad has been his mentor, coach, and his best buddy. Growing up with such a loving Dad is a big part of why Jacob has wanted a family of his own.

 

In 2014, Amanda was diagnosed with Endometriosis and PCOS, and was told that she might have trouble getting pregnant in the future but because they caught it so early there was probably no need to worry.

 

 

 

Jacob and Amanda were married in August of 2018 and began trying to conceive shortly after. After 3.5 years of trying, two rounds of fertility treatments, and 3 miscarriages, Amanda’s OBGYN stated that if they want to have a successful pregnancy and have biological children of their own, their best chance is to do IVF, and they need to do it soon.

 

IVF can be a very emotionally stressful experience, but it is also very costly. One round of IVF can cost anywhere from $15-25k. In an effort to help ease this financial stress during this already stressful (but super exciting) time, I wanted to start a fundraiser knowing that any amount helps. The funds raised will go directly to Jacob and Amanda to help with the expenses of IVF.

 

Jacob and Amanda have chosen 3 jigsaw puzzles that create one complete picture representing their “wish” to become parents.

 

 

 

 

For every $10 donated. You can choose to buy 1,2,3,5, or 10. There is no limit. A piece will be added to the puzzle with your name on it. After the puzzles are complete, they will frame and display them in their child’s nursery to remind them and their son or daughter of all the special people that helped make their dream of becoming parents a reality.
