My name is Jackson and I am a Life Scout in Troop 84. I am working toward the rank of Eagle Scout and would appreciate your support!

My Eagle Project will be an addition to my brother's Eagle Project at the Anderson VFW Post 6089. I plan on adding an outdoor fireplace to the pavilion he built in 2021. The VFW is excited about the project and said they have been able to host a lot more events on their property since the pavilion was built. The VFW rents out the pavilion and this helps them earn money for their organization. An added fireplace will provide heat for winter months and allow them to increase their rental season.

The goal of the fireplace project is to make a very large cinder block structure with brick or rock cover. It will take up quite a bit of space. It will be next to the pavilion on the back end. We will make a flute/chimney that goes above the pavilion, so the smoke doesn't get pushed under the roof. It would be nice to also include a seating area along the back side of the pavilion that is incorporated into the fireplace.
