I’m a disabled gay trans man asking for some community support to help me get on my feet after a major health crisis, until I’m back in regular income in 2 months' time.

Over the past 2 years, I’ve been dealing with an undiagnosed chronic pain, fatigue, and PTSD combo that’s massively changed how able I’ve been to work, leave the house, and maintain routines and relationships. Though I’ve got more than my share of degrees and skills, this has reconfigured a lot of my life and I've been struggling to support myself while navigating big health and housing changes.

After 9 months of un/precarious employment, I’ve finally gotten a stable 4-day-a-week job that works for my access needs. I've also moved this past month into a long-term living situation with close friends who’re helping me adjust to a new pace of life. I’m incredibly relieved, excited, and grateful for this new chapter coming in. However, I won’t get a full pay cheque until end of October and don’t have much work lined up between now and then.

I’ve been struggling to afford bills/food/medication/rent each month and I'm in an especially rough ££ spot after my move, which happened 3 months earlier than planned. I have a lot of debt and no savings/family financial support. While I plan to keep freelancing as much as I can, the shift back to regular work will be a big adjustment and I’m not confident I’ll be able to earn alongside my new job. This is why I'm asking for a hand to bridge the gap til payday.

£2500 will help me:
  • Pay for groceries/bills/commute over the next 2 months
  • Travel to upcoming medical appointments outside London
  • Get some badly needed physical therapy I haven't been able to access on the NHS
  • Have time to apply for PIP (and maybe get a little rest!) before I start my new job
While this period has been a big adjustment for me: I've got a good support system, stable income on the horizon, and more than my share of social capital/privilege. I’d ask you only to donate to me if you can afford to donate directly to a family in G4z4, C0ngo, or Sud4n too. Message me if you need a donation link.

If you can’t donate right now, boosts or leads on queer history/health/EDI training and consulting, tour guiding, tarot reading, or shift work gigs in east London are appreciated!

Love and solidarity always,
Jack
