When I heard the news that my Big sister (who was told that she wouldn’t be able to have kids) was pregnant, I was ecstatic! I vowed to her that I will always be the father figure in his life and have stuck true to it! About 2 and a half years ago (time sure does fly), our lives were turnt upside down. We found out that Jordan’s liver was failing and that she didn’t have more than a year to live. She proved them wrong. For 3 months, she was put in an induced coma and again we were told her time was limited( tried my best to make it everyday). Miracle after miracle, it was almost like maybe she could pull through! Unfortunately she passed away this past may. My mom and myself took it upon ourselves to file for custody. I intend to keep my promise to my sister that I will always take care of him as if he is my own. He has never met his father and may never meet him. Our Jack Jack wont stop growing and talking. He is starting to realize that she isn’t around anymore and when he sees pictures he sometimes cries. I hope that my mother and I can make up for his parent’s absence and give him all the love he needs.
