Medlife Volunteer Trip to Cusco

My name is Hillary Ramirez and I am a first-year undergrad student pursuing a career as a medical doctor. I have currently been offered the opportunity to visit Cusco, Peru with my school to participate in a medical mission trip.

Cusco, Peru is a city more than 3,000 m above sea level with rural villages residing at higher altitudes in the mountainside. The people in these villages experience a lack of accessibility to the medical care they need especially the children, the elderly and pregnant woman.

In a weeklong mission trip, medlife provides the people in these communities with medical care including: dental, OB/GYN, and pediatric care. Medlife’s mission extends further by providing the communities with preventive education as well as doing follow-ups when necessary.

This weeklong trip will allow me to experience first-hand the impact of helping an impoverished community as well as the importance a doctor’s role in communities as such.  Working alongside medical professionals will allow me to gain insight and experience I could not receive in a classroom.

This trip however, is not possible without your help. Every penny donated is greatly appreciated and will go directly to funding the trip.
