Help for Paul's family

Hi, my name is Tanya, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my sister Laurel and her sons Ashton and Ryan, after the heartbreaking and sudden passing of her husband, Paul Morin, on May 17th, 2025.

Paul was only 54 when he died unexpectedly from cardiac arrest. He was a man who loved deeply, worked hard, and did everything he could to keep life as steady as possible for the people he loved.

But life had already become incredibly difficult before his passing. Paul had been involved in two car accidents in the past year that left him unable to work. He was already behind financially, and the insurance support he had been receiving stopped immediately upon his death.

Now Laurel and her boys are facing a near impossible situation.

Paul and Laurel’s home still has mortgages, and are still due. Ryan, their youngest son, just received news that he’s been laid off, leaving the household with almost no income. Laurel is now unemployed as well, having been working out of the province until Paul’s passing. She is now searching for work again while she continues to grieve deeply.

Ashton, their oldest, has already been working two jobs just to try to support the household while sustaining his own home as well. He’s now trying to carry even more - managing bills, groceries, helping with the pets, and doing everything he can to help keep his brother and mother afloat, all while mourning his dad. Right up until being laid off, Ryan had been doing his best to support the home as well.

There are still many costs left including some end of life expenses, bills and debts, groceries, caring for the pets, hydro, water, gas, and mortgage payments among other things.

We’re hoping to raise $10,000 to give this family some room to breathe. To keep the lights on, put food in the fridge, and honor Paul’s memory the way he deserves.
