Help Michelle and Gary Through This Tough Time

Hello my Friends! My name is Kristin Chapman. I am Gary Halek's youngest sister. Gary and Michelle have been together a little over 12 years now. Gary brought Michelle to our family Christmas Party in 2012 as their first date. Crazy!! She fit right in. From the start we knew that Michelle belonged in our family. It wasn't long before we called her our Sister and the Nieces and Nephews were calling her Aunt Michelle.That girl never stops moving! Even after 12 years Gary and Michelle are still inseparable. We often tell them, 'just get a room'. She loves, and is loved by so many. Unfortunately, Michelle started to experience some vision issues the weekend of March 8th. Michelle was admitted to the Henry Ford Hospital in Grand Blanc, and was being treated for a stroke. Her condition continued to worsen while working through physical therapy. She has lost use of her right side, the ability to speak, or swallow. She was finally transferred to Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, is now on a feeding tube, and being treated for Brain Cancer. We are waiting for the final biopsy results at this time to determine the plan of action. They are currently getting a second opinion from U of M as I speak. They may transfer her there for possible brain surgery and treatment. Michelle is confused and scared. Gary has been at the hospital and by Michelle's side almost every day, He does not want her to be alone. At times, spending the night. We expect a long road with possible brain surgery, recovery, then intense radiation therapy over the next few months. Michelle may need 24 hour home care while she recovers and goes through treatment. Gary is planning on being there 24/7 as needed. Gary has kept so many loving friends,family, and co-workers informed along the way on her condition, while only asking for our 'thoughts and prayers'.

I know my Brother has his own bills, house, and things to take care of. It is costing him over $200 a week for travel, lodging, and food expenses. I know he needs help!
