Hi everyone,
I want to first tell you a little about Caleb's story. As many of you know, my brother has been incarcerated for much of his life. Prior to his prison sentence, Josh had 2 children - the younger being my nephew, Caleb. He and his sister spent much of their lives with their mother, who struggled with addiction.
Toward the end of Caleb's high school years, he was left to fend for himself. His mother and sister went in other directions, both physically and emotionally. Despite having no parents or siblings to support him in any way, Caleb finished high school and began working full-time.
He didn't stop there. He pursued and received financial aid so that he could attend a welding program at Shoals Community College, all while working as many hours as he could at his job. He has now already obtained a welding certification and continues to make great grades in all of his classes.
Caleb has never asked for help on his journey to adulthood, despite all the obstacles in front of him. When help is offered, he always hesitantly accepts but assures us that he is fine and not to worry.
God has continued to provide for Caleb through my parents and others, but he was recently left looking for a place to live. Yet again, God provided. Caleb now has an apartment secured through his last year of welding school!
Though Caleb now has a car and apartment, he has no furnishings. We are hoping to reward his resilience and hard work by taking this final step in getting him on his feet. Any funds donated will go towards items such as furniture, dishes, bedding, etc. If you live in the Florence/Shoals area and have actual items that you would like to donate, we would gladly accept those as well!
With Love,
Liz, Tim, Jeanie, & Dennis
