Izzy’s Cancer Battle
Donation protected
Meet Izzy Miller. The bravest 4 year old I’ve ever known. Up until recently, Izzy has been a healthy, happy four year old girl who loves her Mum, Dad and baby sister Maisie.
For the past 11 months, Izzy’s parents had countless visits to their local hospital with concerns of a lump in her neck and unexplainable pains, each time being told everything was ok and not to worry. After being turned away far too many times from the local hospital and no longer being able to walk, Izzy’s Mum wouldn’t take their ‘she’s ok’ ‘we promise there’s nothing to worry about’ for an answer. They knew something was wrong and it needed to be investigated properly. The hospital then finally gave a referral for Perth Children’s Hospital and on the same day a biopsy of the lump and bone marrow were taken and they were told their daughter had cancer.
On the 26th of November 2024, after CT scans, ultrasounds, biopsy’s and blood tests, Izzy’s parents Joe & Kim were sat down to receive devastating news that Izzy had been diagnosed with high risk Neuroblastoma with Metastasis. With cancer in her bones, marrow and tumour in her neck, Izzy commenced her first chemotherapy round the following day on the 27th of November and is currently undergoing her second round of chemo, and will undergo surgeries and radiation down the track. Our little warrior has also commenced a clinical trial immune therapy which has horrific side effects and requires intense pain relief medication.
This is going to be a long and exhausting 18 month long journey. As Izzy and her family live in Bunbury, WA they have had to relocate indefinitely to Perth, where Izzy is undergoing treatment at Perth Children’s Hospital.
Joe works a FIFO role in the railway/mining industry and has had to take a step away to be by his daughter’s side. Kim manages a local caravan park and can no longer undertake this position.
I offered to start this Go Fund me account over 4 weeks ago, which was declined by Izzy’s parents. They are both proud parents of their two beautiful girls and have been doing this solo for far too long already.
With your support, any donations, no matter how small is very much appreciated by Kim & Joe + extended families. Please keep Izzy in your thoughts and prayers whilst she undergoes this unfathomable journey.
