Izabela's mission in Uganda

Hi ALL :) My name is Izabela, and I've created this fundraiser for my mission in Uganda.

Some of you may already know that at the end of this year, I will be made redundant from my job, so I've decided to follow the calling I felt in my heart to do something meaningful.

Therefore, in January 2023, I'm heading to Uganda in Africa for three months to help these beautiful people from "Gate of Hope Education Centre" in Kaihura.

The "Gate of Hope" is NGO (Non-Government Organisation) established by Honorata and Piotr Wasowski.

Honorata went to Uganda as a volunteer for nine months in 2007 - she raised money to equip the orphanage. When she returned home, the money kept flowing from donors as many people wanted to help but didn't know how and they also wanted to ensure that their donations reached needy people in full. During her multiple visits to Uganda, She noticed that the best way to break the circle of poverty is to give poor children access to education - so she started building schools (education in Uganda is paid at every level - even primary schools)

Today "Gate of Hope Education Centre" provides education to hundreds of children, helping the poor in their community, raising money for healthcare, building houses for the homeless, providing food for families living in extreme poverty and sharing the Gospel and love of Jesus Christ. Honorata, Piotr and their children decided to live in Uganda after being stuck there due to covid lockdowns.

I set up this fundraiser as I wish to be able to fulfill the needs that I will come across during my stay there. During my volunteering, I will search for urgent needs and decide and see with my own eyes where this money is going. Therefore, I can assure you that every euro donated will be spent on needy people.
