Iyaniwura

On March 23rd, 2024, Mr. Morak Oguntade and Mrs. Yemisi Oguntade proudly inaugurated Iyaniwura, a dedicated charity care home center for the elderly in Osun State, (Ilesa) Nigeria.

At Iyaniwura, we extend a warm invitation to all to join us for a day filled with joyous activities, laughter, and games.

For those who know me, this project holds a special place in my hearts, serving as a tribute to my beautiful late Grandma. Recognising the need for a space where the elderly feel welcomed and rejuvenated as loneliness can be a scary place to be.

At Iyaniwura we provide our elderly with engaging activities to promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and emotional well-being. From traditional board games like Ayo (Mancala) and Draughts (Checkers) to outdoor exercises like stretching, aiming to enhance mobility (reducing the risk of falls), vitamin D boosting their mood and skin, fostering a sense of community in the residents.

Although ageing is inevitable, we believe in demonstrating our love and compassion because truly no one likes to feels forgotten.

Use of Funds

Funds raised will facilitate the purchase of essential supplies such as a Shuttle Bus, Wheelchair, Examination-Tray, and a Zimmer Frames to safely transport and assist the elderly between their homes and our care centre.
