Ivy was born silent and blue. She was immediately whisked into another room, with us unaware of her fate for what felt like a lifetime. All I knew was she was a girl and had a lot of hair. She was eventually returned to us and we thought the trauma was over. She was in our arms, that's what mattered. But seizures, dangerously high infection markers and a NICU stay later and all signs pointed to a hypoxic brain injury.
Her little brain was damaged. To what extent or what this would mean for her was unknown. The pieces of the puzzle have been slowly finding their place. She has since been officially diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy of all 4 limbs but she is still too young for us to fully understand how her brain and life has been effected.
Fortunately their are incredible treatments, therapies and equipment out there to aid Ivy in living her very best life. Unfortunately the price tag that these come with is high and not within our reach.
We have decided, so she doesn't miss out on one single thing that could help her, to fundraise ongoing for her and others like her. Our goal is to use money made to pay for therapies (including accommodation and travel expenses) and equipment for Ivy but to also eventually give back and provide equipment for our local community. An area of high deprivation and low education. So that all children like Ivy have the chance to experience life to the fullest.
