About Me
Hi Everyone! My name is Ivy, and I have been medically transitioning for a little over three years. Now, I am getting gender-affirming surgery and I am so so excited. I grew up deep in the evangelical church, not even knowing what a transgender woman was, just knowing something was very wrong with who I was.
When I finally met another transgender woman when I was twenty years old, everything clicked into place in my head and I knew that was me. I finished my degree at the conservative christian college I attended and began my medical transition, immediately losing my job and most of my community. Now I am living in Portland as the woman I've always been and I am so ready for this next big step!
Why I need it
I am expecting my surgery to be scheduled at the end of the summer and I am so ready for it. I experience severe, daily dysphoria and this will completely change the way I live my life.
I am so lucky to have received income based financial assistance from the hospital I am getting my surgery with which means that I will not have to play for the surgery out of pocket!
However as a bartender I am always working on my feet and moving 150lbs kegs around and I'm going to be out of commission for at least two months. I need help covering rent, basic necessities, and the many surgery related costs so I can focus on healing.
I couldn't live without my transition and I am so happy to be able to have y'all be a part of my journey!
