IVF Journey for Baby Holmes

Hello all,
My name is Kayla Holmes. My husband, Matt, and I have been trying for a baby for the last four years of our seven-year marriage. We started talking about becoming parents pretty much since we started dating, so much so that we already have names picked out. However, after a few rounds of doctor appointments and tests, it was discovered that Matt has a low sperm count and my egg count was low. Which was incredibly heartbreaking and means it has significantly lowered our chances of getting pregnant naturally.
In hopes that we could explore some less costly options, the doctor had us try a couple of things. Such as Matt got prescribed some medication and I got some blood work done. Unfortunately, this past March we were told the medication didn't work as we had hoped. Then my blood work told the doctor that my eggs would only be a viable option for the next 18 to 24 months. Therefore our only chance to bring home a baby would be costly IVF. Matt and I drove home completely heartbroken.
Our insurance doesn't cover any fertility appointments or procedures and we had already racked up a bill for $1000 just in appointments. If you don't know one IVF procedure costs between $20,000 and $30,000 and that’s not including the cost of the medication, which can bump it up quite a bit more. Since time is a factor we’ve been scrambling to figure out how to do this and find a new place to live.
You know the saying when it rains it pours? The day after our appointment COVID-19 started shutting down the country. A week after that we starting having lots of problems with the house that we are currently renting. Such as electrical, plumbing, and floor issues. So now on top of everything else we're trying to figure out how to buy a new house. Unfortunately, all of these things have caused Matt and me to make the hard choice to ask for donations to make our dream of becoming parents a reality.
We have also applied for a couple of financing programs to lower the cost somewhat and hopefully give us the option to make payments but I do believe we have to have a certain amount down before we can even get anything started.
