Kirstin and Will Lathrop's IVF Fund
One of the greatest blessings in my life has been watching my sister Kirstin grow into the charitable person she is now. I have watched her become a wife to her husband, Will, who is so caring and incredibly in love with her. Truly, I have never met a more perfect pair and the two make maintaining a marriage look effortless.
The past two years I have watched my sister grow even more as she became a mother to my adorable nephew, Dean. I know no two parents more caring, understanding, loving, and constantly trying to be the best parents they can for their son than Kirstin and Will.
A year and a half after Dean was born, Will and Kirstin were ready to grow their family but had trouble getting pregnant. After 6 painful and confusing months, they did some routine checkups that they expected would yield a simple fix. Unfortunately, they learned there were health issues involved which meant they had less than 0.5% chance of conceiving naturally. Even after medications and an IUI, their chances weren’t any better.
Reluctantly, their doctor recommended IVF as their best chance to grow their family. As with most IVF, the procedure is not covered by health insurance and it is due upfront in order to progress with treatment.
They have not arrived at this decision with ease or without pain, but they have accepted that it’s the next step. Unfortunately, they also acknowledge that this doesn’t provide any guarantees to getting pregnant, only that it provides their best shot.
I know these two very well. They have helped me financially when I have needed it and they are incredibly charitable to friends and family. Now it's our turn to give back to them and make sure they can achieve their dream. Any amount you can contribute to help them with the cost of IVF makes a difference. They plan to move forward as soon as possible so please don't wait.
The world can seem like it is getting scarier and scarier each day. That's why it is so important we have the best people on the job for raising the next generation. I promise you, Kirstin and Will are those people.
Sincerely,
Susanna Fullmer, the luckiest aunt
