UNC Chapel Hill is the birthplace of Epsilon Eta, the first environmental honors society in the nation. In our 8th year now, we have put together a team of 10 UNC Undergraduates who are energized by the thought of impacting both the environment and the community. Through a company called Grid Alternatives, we have committed to the Alternative Spring Break of installing solar panels in California on the roofs of an underprivileged neighborhood. The company subsidizes the cost of the panels but we still need to raise $5,000, excluding transportation from NC to CA, to pay for the panels. We will be learning how to install the panels firsthand so installation fees are free for the community, but as economically-stifled college students we need your help to raise the money! We appreciate every dollar. Thank you from the Tar Heel community!
