I could not list all the good deeds of Billy even if I tried. Honestly, if I didn’t spend every single day with him, I wouldn’t believe he was a real person. Billy lives to help people, and he does it without fail — every. single. day. — and asks for nothing in return.
His story runs deep, but it’s clear to me that after such an eventful life, being a light for Jesus and becoming the best Christian he can be completely outweighs everything else. Ironically, you’d think Billy would have pretty good luck, but it’s quite the opposite. He’s been robbed on three occasions since living at this house — first his power tools in the garage, then his trailer, and now his 250cc Yamaha dirt bike worth over $10k with every upgrade imaginable.
He was using that bike to get around town after his truck broke down 5 months ago, and over the months of building the Yoshi Mach bike, I’ve watched this man completely disassemble his F250 and reassemble it, only for new fuse and mystery problems to arise. Yet he has NEVER said no to someone who needed help, no matter how inconvenient or costly it was for him. His selflessness is inspirational, and it breaks my heart to see that he can’t seem to catch a break.
He’s helped with the Yoshi Mach bike project tremendously and has taught me so many new skills. I’m so grateful. Even if we don’t reach our goal, I’ll still be satisfied knowing Billy gets the recognition he deserves.
I’ve heard him say on multiple occasions that $1,500 is needed for a tune since he can’t do that himself, but truly, any amount would be deeply appreciated. I would love to surprise him with some well-deserved good luck.
