It's OK to be YOU!

Hi! Jason Tharp, a talented artist and author of children's books, was invited to speak at my children's school. Jason's mission is to help kids find the magic in their own stories. He feels it is important to provide kids core competencies for growing up in a social media world, skills rooted in kindness, inclusion, empathy, and self-empowerment. He encourages kids to embrace their inner “weirdness” and be brave about who they want to be. Unfortunately, his recent visit to our local elementary was minimal and reduced in impactfulness by adults who thought his books had additional agendas other than to teach kids it's OK to be themselves. Jason was not allowed to read his books or share his entire message with our children.

As an event planner, I want to use my own gifts and plan an evening with Jason Tharp in our local community for all to come and hear Jason's story. To share in an evening of inspiration and discovery. To help others on their journey as they discover who they are or want to be. To encourage people it is OK to show up as themselves and love themselves.

Jason and I will both be donating our time to create this amazing evening and event. It will be a free event for anyone in our local communities. However, there are costs associated with venue rental, production such as lighting and sound, etc. I am raising funds to cover the overhead costs of producing this magical event in hopes that families can attend this inspirational evening complimentary.

If we exceed our goal and event expenses are covered, all additional funds will be donated to brain cancer awareness and research.
