THE STORY:

Hi, my name is Perry Power, and for the past 7 years I have been raising awareness around intrafamilial abuse and helping survivors to break their silence before it is too late.

Back in 2017, my alcoholic father died from a sudden heart attack (he was only 48).

And whilst I thought grief would be the hardest part of it all for me, it wasn’t.

Six or so months after he passed, I sat in my car and publicly broke my silence on Facebook (I was a fitness coach at the time and had a small online following). I spoke about being sexually abused as a child by my step-grandad, and talked about the struggles of my dad’s death.

It was that single video that changed my life forever.

Because not only did it inspire other silent survivors to break their silence (making me realise I wasn’t alone), it also led me to find out that my dad was abused as a child too…

By the same man who abused me.

And it was in that moment that I knew I had to do something.

So I left the fitness industry and temporarily parked my acting career while I figured out a way to raise awareness.

And now, 7 years later, my story has been viewed over 50 million times on social media, inspiring millions worldwide to break their silence and end the generational cycle.

Off the back of my book, Breaking The Silence, I launched a publishing company (Powerful Books) to help other trauma survivors write and publish their stories.

And as of last year, I launched my production company (Powerful Films) to start turning some of these books into feature films, each one designed to create social impact…

With my story being the first to kick it all off.

WHERE YOUR DONATION GOES:

This is a fully independent British feature film with no studio backing, backed completely by people like you.

After the first round of fundraising, which I started at the concept stage, the donations went towards:

  • Hiring script consultants for script review and improvements
  • Film festival submissions
  • Screenwriting and film industry-specific subscriptions

All prior donations helped get the script to the stage it's out now, which is ready to go into production.

So moving forward, I will pull together a full crew to not only bring this film to life, but market it in a way that gets it seen through social media and film festivals.

Below is a transparent breakdown of how the minimum goal of £150,000 will be used.

Production: £75,000–£95,000

This covers the essential cost of shooting the film safely and professionally:

  • Core crew
  • Equipment
  • Lighting
  • Sound
  • Production design
  • Locations
  • Transport
  • Insurance
  • A shooting schedule that protects performances and emotional scenes

This is the foundation of the film.

Post-Production: £25,000–£35,000

Editing, colour grading, sound design, score, mixing, mastering — everything required to turn the footage into a powerful finished film capable of standing alongside other prestige British dramas.

Music Licensing (Elvis Presley): £40,000–£60,000

Elvis’s music shaped the relationship between my dad and me, and helps shape the emotional core of the story. To honour our truth, we need the rights to a couple of songs that’ll deepen the story we’re telling. Licensing iconic music requires proper budgeting — and this is one of the most meaningful investments in the film.

Impact & Outreach: £10,000–£20,000

This film only makes a difference if people actually see it. This covers:

  • Trailer distribution
  • Outreach to survivor communities
  • Awareness materials
  • Charity partnerships
  • Community & organisation screenings
  • Minimal PR to elevate the conversation

️ Contingency: £5,000

Every film has unforeseen costs. This ensures the production stays safe, on schedule, and protected.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER £150,000?

Reaching the £150,000 goal gets the film fully made; the essential version needed to tell this story with integrity and emotional truth.

Once this goal is reached, further financial phases will unlock to enhance the film’s:

  • Cinematography
  • Production quality
  • Festival run
  • Theatrical release
  • UK awards qualification
  • US Academy Award qualifying screenings
  • National impact campaign

These expanded phases ensure the film not only gets made, but reaches the widest possible audience, including survivors, families, communities, and decision-makers who can create real change.

The higher we go beyond £150,000, the bigger the movement becomes.

But if there's one thing clear here, it's this...

No matter how much we raise, this film will be made.

It's too important not to be made.

I truly believe people's lives depend on it.

But to give this film a fair shot of being made well, it comes down to everyone coming together to make it happen.

Even if it's just £1, it doesn't matter.

It's you taking a stand and joining this movement to help end intrafamilial abuse and break generational silence before it's too late.

It's going to take an army of us to beat this. And we will.

See you on the other side.

Be powerful,
Perry.
