It Takes A Village-A Vets fight for fair custody

My name is Corey Hanson. I am the father to a beautiful and smart four-year-old girl named Charlotte. I am here because I am out of time and options. I have been in a custody dispute with her mother (Plaintiff) for about the last year and a half. We separated in 2020 with the agreement to share custody of Charlotte 50-50 and the mutual understanding that the child needs both parents. Things went smoothly with this agreement as long as I did what she said and dropped everything to do favors for her which included helping her around her house and watching Charlotte during her parenting time when she wanted to do something.
I met my soon to be wife Sarah in May of 2021. She has a son named Brayden and he is a wonderful 15 year old boy with special needs. Charlotte took to both Sarah and Brayden quickly, the kids think of each other as brother and sister. Sarah spends time with Charlotte by teaching her and doing crafts and painting her nails. We as a family spend a lot of time outdoors, swimming, fishing, hiking through the woods and learning about nature and wildlife. About three months into our relationship, Sarah reached out to Charlotte‘s mother, trying to establish a respectful relationship on the principle of coexistence and working together for Charlotte‘s benefit. She instantly rejected Sarah, and from that point things took a steep decline. The plaintiff then begun, making groundless, CPS and police reports, accusing us of abuse and neglect. None of which had any evidence of truth. We spoke to a number of investigators and interviews, none of which found anything that supported her claims. At that point, she resorted to withholding Charlotte from seeing me at all. The first time she did this was for about three weeks and then again in June 2022 and I did not see her until October 2022 when the courts told her to let her see me. I have gone from seeing my 50% of the time to two weekends a month. I was at the hospital when she was born, I was the first person to feed her from a spoon when she was just hours old. I have been there consistently from the beginning, and now we barely see each other. I have to endure her crying and asking why we don’t get more time together, telling me that three sleeps isn’t enough time and how she wishes she could have more time with us. The plaintiff continues to lie and manipulate the system with her attorney to keep a child from a loving and capable father. All I’ve ever asked was for time to be a father. I’ve been doing things in court on my own and because I cannot afford an attorney on my own, and by thinking that the evidence would speak for itself, I have realized that without a lawyer nobody listens or cares. My family and I have been degraded and attacked by the plaintiff in the name of pushing me out of the picture. I am a proud USMC vet and it humbles me that I have to be here asking for help but I don’t see any other way to have my voice heard. I have come to the conclusion that in order to stay in my child’s life I will need an attorney and your help. Anything you can do is appreciated more than I can ever express. If you know me, Sarah, or Brayden personally, even just a character reference for the type of people and parents you know us to be would help.
