Israel Torres regain custody of my daughter who is my life

Hi everyone, I created the GoFundMe account to help me fight legal fees to get custody of my baby girl. I left my daughter’s mom three weeks ago. Our relationship became too toxic where I would find myself coming home to be verbally abused. I tried my very best to keep it together for the sake of my daughter. It became so bad I finally had to let go and move on for peace of mind.

The mother had at one point given my daughter to me to register her in the school district I reside in. The mother left to another state and never stated if she was coming back. The mother did come back a week later and went to the police station to hit me with a domestic violence complaint. I never committed any offenses as she claims . The police came to my residence with a restraining order and took my baby girl from me. It was a terrible experience for me and my daughter. I had no idea where she was. The following day, I was arrested and booked at the Essex County Jail in Newark, NJ. My life was thrown into turmoil. I had never been in trouble with the law until this day. I was really terrified and scared as I didn’t know what would become of this situation. Forty-eight hours later, I was released on pretrial release and now in so much debt for legal fees.

I’m fighting three fronts to obtain legal counsel. I have exhausted much of my savings to obtain lawyers. My concern is fighting for my existence and to get custody of my daughter as her mother is not fit to be the legal guardian of my daughter. My daughter is my life and I’m fighting for her to be in a safe place. I just found out my daughter is staying with her mom in a motel. My daughter has always had a home to call home. The motel is in an area infested with drugs and ongoing prostitution. Child Protective Services was also involved to see and meet my daughter at this location and came to my location as well. I am in a one-bedroom apartment. CPS did not recommend that she be with me and is with the mother instead. The system is broken! They chose the crack-infested motel for her housing instead of my location, which is 100 times better. I just don’t understand why.

So I ask you all out there, please help me fight for my legal fees and fight for the return of my baby girl. Godspeed.
