Hi, my name is Leia, and I’m organising a very special fundraiser for our wonderful young family member, Isla.

Isla is the most incredibly happy, positive and loving little girl. She really is a breath of fresh air to everyone who knows her, and despite everything she is facing, that amazing personality continues to shine through.

Isla has been diagnosed with Stargardt disease, a rare inherited eye condition that causes progressive loss of central vision. Sadly, her eyesight is already deteriorating, and at present there is no cure or proven treatment that can stop the disease.

Our aim is to raise as much as we can to give Isla the opportunity to make incredible memories and enjoy as many of the experiences every child deserves, while she can still see and experience them as fully as possible. We also hope that, in some small way, we can help raise awareness of Stargardt disease and the impact it can have on children and their families.

To do this, we’re bringing together our hairdressing community for three fun fundraising events:

Pints & Ponytails — for the dads

Prosecco & Plaits — for the mums

Curls & Cocktails — for the curly community

Each evening will be fun, relaxed and hands-on, with demonstrations, practical learning and plenty of help building confidence with styling and caring for hair — all while raising money for a very special little girl.

Every ticket, donation and bit of support will help us give Isla more opportunities to experience, explore and make memories.

Most importantly, this fundraiser isn’t about what Isla is losing. It’s about making the absolute most of everything she has ahead of her. ❤️
