Isla’s fun run for Diabetes UK
This year isla is doing the fun run to raise money for Diabetes Uk.
Isla was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes on the 20th March 2025 a date we will never forget. After an 8 day stay in hospital Isla got home and started a new way of life.
Diabetes is so much more than monitoring sugar, it is 4+ injections a day, counting the carbs each meal and drink she has, waking up in the middle of the night to eat and drink when sugars are low, wearing and changing a sensor every 11 days and pricking her finger multiple times a day. This is a lot for an adult never-mind a 2 year old. Isla and all the other thousands of children living with type 1 diabetes show us a different level of bravery every day and the money we raise helps with research and life changing equipment such as an insulin pump that connects to a sensor which administers insulin with out the injections. This is the closest we have to an electronic pancreas and the best is yet to come! Thank you for any donations
