Island Moorings Flag Pole Beautification Project

Hi, My name is Marsha Dayon, and I have been a full-time resident of  Island Moorings for two years. When I moved in, I was kindly asked by Mrs. Athene to take care of the flag pole island. With the encouragement of my Bayside neighbors, Athene and Sylvia, I continued the 4th of July parade traditions and decorated the island with lights at Christmas.

For this Christmas season, I have adopted the Farley Boat at the flag pole island for the Lighting Up Port Aransas contest put on by the Port Aransas Garden Club.

As I began pulling weeds, I quickly realized that the flag pole island is long overdue for a professional make-over, well beyond my solo capabilities. The border needs to be replaced, rocks cleaned out, dead plants pulled, weeds eliminated, weed barrier added, and everything put back together.

My goals are to make the flag pole island easier to maintain, show pride in our flags, and keep Island Moorings beautiful.

With your support, I'd like to revive flag pole island to better match the beautiful homes here and become something we are all proud of when we drive by.

I will be painting the Farley Boat at the flag pole for the next couple of days and would love for you to stop by and say hello.

I appreciate that this is above and beyond what we all pay into our HOA, and you shouldn't feel pressured to donate.  All money raised will go towards a trusted, professional landscaper for the island improvements.
