Isaiah 58 14er Project- Helping our Malawian Family

Tax deductible

My name is Solomon Levine and I am a disciple and servant of Christ. I am married to my beloved Jen and we have 2 beautiful boys who are nine and six years of age. Late 2024 my family and I embarked on a new adventure in moving to Colorado. We came to find out there are 58 14,000 foot mountains here. Hiking is a love of mine, to be out in God‘s creation, God‘s world, brings life to one’s heart, and the challenge of climbing a physical mountain echoes our journey walking with God, the journey isn’t easy, it requires your full commitment with much grace, yet when you arrive at the top it is all worth it.

“Great things are done when men and mountains meet,
These are not done by walking down the street.” -William Blake

On January 10 of this year, my wife and I started fasting and praying. We felt we were at the threshold of something the Lord was calling us into, something set apart for His will. Around this time a pastor from Malawi, Africa named Duncan Nyozani reached out to me, expressing the need for spiritual support in his community. And now over these past nine months our spiritual fellowship has grown into something very fruitful and special. His community has been going through much hardship due to multiple cyclones, drought, instability in the government, and inflation, etc. All these factors have led to famine like conditions. In spite of all this, their faith remains strong. Their orphanage of 21 children also needs much help due to all these factors, and most of the families bibles in the villages were lost in the cyclone from last winter.
Just as the Lord fed the 5000 our hearts are also to help provide for them practically during this time of need, and as the apostle Paul was being faithful to steward the mystery of Christ and share His riches so he was led to bring a collection of funds to Jerusalem during a famine.

In this spirit we introduce to you, Isaiah 58 14er project. I will trek one of the 58 mountains of 14,000 feet each week (as I am able, factoring in weather and seasons, always being led by God’s gracious Spirit) for our Malawian family. And on the top of each one I will call upon the name of the Lord, pray for our Malawian brothers and sisters, and proclaim God’s Salvation and the Precious Blood of Jesus. Isaiah 58 is like a breathtaking mountain itself. Each word eteched by the spirit of God, each verse a beautiful section of the trek upward, revealing the beautiful lovingkindness of the Lord, this very God who is after each and every one of our hearts. Ending in the 14th verse with “riding in triumph on the heights of the land.”
Isaiah 58 reveals that the heart of God is to help the poor and afflicted.

So we invite you to partner with us on Isaiah 58 14er Project to support those in dire need.

You may want to consider donating in the spirit of the 58 mountains I am currently climbing, and give 58 dollars. We ask that you simply be led by God‘s gracious Spirit.

Sacs of Maize (corn) cost around $45-$60 dollars, depending on the week, and last a family 3-4 weeks. Please read this article to understand the importance of Maize flour in the Malawian culture.

Chichewa Bibles cost around $14 dollars and there are currently about 300 families without a Bible.

-They are also in need of a borehole for clean and sustainable water, which ranges from about 5,000 dollars to dig.

The orphanage has many needs as well like food and clothing , shoes, blankets, bed sheets, etc.

Funds will be going through Manhattan Christian gathering 501(c)(3).

Solomon
