I am raising money because I want to help give back to people in my community who are less fortunate. In the past, I have made around 100 care packages and gave them to local shelters such as Cocoon house that serve local youth. This was impactful because it gave children in these shelters and in transition to foster homes things such as toothbrushes, floss, hairbrush, shampoo, and deodorant. These are supplies children in these situations might not have easy access to because they often transition to new places very quickly. Having these things can help make it easier for these children during and in their transitions to new places. These past two years have been very harsh on everybody, especially with the pandemic. In this time, it has helped me realize how privileged I am, and therefore I feel it is important to help those who are not. I feel that this will make an impact. These care packages can help give these children opportunities to have access to daily necessities that might not be provided for them in their transitions and in their shelters. I have partnered with my dentist, Dr. Clio Samia-Lindenauer of Silver Lake Dental Arts (Everett, WA - sldarts.com) who has previously helped me providing dental supplies for these packages including toothbrushes, toothpaste, and floss. Like me, she believes it is important to help and give back to our local community and even small things such as these packages can make a difference.
