Hi, my name is Isabella Williams and from the time I was in Junior High I knew that I wanted to pursue a career in medicine. It is an unusual yet alluring feeling when you know what you are destined to do, much like the attraction of two magnets pulling on another closer everyday. I remember dreaming of the day I would be able to make a difference in service, in perspective to medicine, to others across the globe. I am now an undergraduate at Muskingum University class of 2019, working hard to make that dream a reality. I will be graduating with a Biology major, a Chemistry minor and a Mathematics minor.
This Spring Semester I was informed that I was accepted into a program called International Medical Aid, which I applied for the Fall semester before. International Medical Aid is an internship program developed at Johns Hopkins where I will be able to volunteer and shadow physicians in Mombasa Kenya for a month. This chance comes once in a lifetime and I am humbled to be able to share such a special opportunity! I am very grateful to have received so much support from my community of friends, family, and even strangers. I am leaving in June so I have mentally, spiritually, and financially started to prepare myself. As a student I will need as much financial support as possible. The expenses of IMA (~$2,950), airline tickets (~2,000), and other expenses. Any support you may provide to help my goal of $5,000 is greatly appreciated. To learn more about the internship, please visit medicalaid.org. I will also be more than willing to share more information, so feel free to contact me [email redacted], or (614) [phone redacted].
