Isaac’s Loving Home Burned by The Tunnel Fire

Who knew that our beautiful home that held many years of fond memories be burned in a matter of two hours and we as a family are still in disbelief, not believing that our home is gone. My parents are Jordan & Jolynn Isaac born and raised in Tuba City. My father’s family moved here to Flagstaff in 1981 and been here since.

On Tuesday, April 19 @ 11:30am I got a call from my sister at work saying they got a notification to evacuate the area. None of us knew how close the fire was, so I raced home to help. As soon as I arrive home I just jumped out of my ride and started getting the animal in crates- We didn’t even think to grab any of our stuff from the house, our minds were just on getting the animals to safety. And too soon the fire was already in our backyard. It got so hot and got difficult to breathe, so in a hurry we opened all our gates and chased the animals out, hoping they made it to safety. As of right now we’re still searching for our dog Minnie and two pigs.

Everything we have/owned is gone. We did not think to grab any of our belongings as everyone minds were on the animals. Our important documents, clothes, pictures, etc. were all burned. If anything I do not regret not grabbing my belongings because my family and animals are my home.

We do appreciate all the support you are giving us verbally, physically & financially. We the Isaac family love you all as well from our family to yours. We’ll be praying for everyone impacted from the Tunnel Fire in our prayers!
