"Are you crazy?"
I have been asked this question so many times in the past few days since announcing my intention to ride in the Mongol Derby! 
My answer is generally "Ah maybe..." which is then followed by the list of reasons I want to do it which include: I want to prove to myself that I'm strong enough (mentally) to do it. I want to do it for my Dad who was a great horse lover and horseman and passed away too early in 2015 from Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL). I want to challenge myself and push myself to the extremes. Riding in the Mongol Derby has been a dream and a bucket list item for me for the longest time, and now I get the chance to do it. The trip will be largely self funded (using $10,000 of my share of the sale of the family farm after Dad's passing). As you can see I am hoping to raise $5000 for the Leukaemia Foundation  http://www.leukaemia.org.au
